If Doctor Strange chose to use the Time Stone against Thanos, could he have won?

If Doctor Strange chose to use the Time Stone directly against Thanos in their battle in Avengers: Infinity War, he's unlikely to win. Here's why:

1. Thanos's Knowledge of the Infinity Stones: Thanos has extensive knowledge of the Infinity Stones and their power. Even without all the stones, he was able to find a way to counter or control the effects of the Time Stone. Now that Thanos has the Reality and Space Stones, manipulating the timeline may not be as effective as Doctor Strange intended.

2. Doctor Strange's Prophecy: Doctor Strange looks into the future and sees over 14 million possible outcomes, only one of which is victory. This suggests that any attempt to use the Time Stone directly against Thanos will fail, as Strange has seen such situations before. 3. Thanos' Resistance to the Time Stone: Thanos, especially with the multiple stones he already had, could have resisted some of the effects of the Time Stone. The combination of the stones gives him the ability to manipulate reality, space, and force, and he is able to neutralize time-based attacks.

Ultimately, Strange did not use the Time Stone because he knew that allowing Thanos to temporarily win was part of the only positive outcome for the Avengers, which occurred in Avengers: Endgame.
