Why do Gen Zers seem to be falling in love with car collecting?

Gen Z's growing interest in car collecting can be attributed to several factors:

1. Nostalgia and retro appeal: Many Gen Zers are drawn to the aesthetic of classic cars from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. These media represent a connection to nostalgia, influenced by the media, video games, and popular culture of their childhood.

2. Social Media and Online Communities: Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube have made it easy to share and discover automotive content. Many Gen Zers follow automotive influencers or engage with online communities focused on car culture, modification, and collecting. 3. Environmental awareness: Despite the growing popularity of electric cars, Generation Z is also drawn to restoring classic cars, as it is a more environmentally friendly option than constantly buying new cars. Some focus on improving cars to be more fuel efficient or even converting them to electric power.

4. Investment potential: Car collecting is increasingly being seen as a form of investment. Some classic and vintage cars have increased in value over time, making car collecting attractive to young people interested in alternative forms of wealth creation. 5. Individuality and Self-Expression: Many Gen Zers use car collecting and customization as a way to express their personal identity. Customizing their cars allows them to express their creativity and personality, making the collection a reflection of their style.

These factors combined have led to a resurgence of car culture among the younger generation.
